The cost of convenience

With 24 September being braai day and all in South Africa - I had to deal with the car dilema again! Fortunately, there was car hire - convenience at a cost ofcourse. I mean what choice did I have? Taxi commuting is an absolute no-no for my daughter (I take the blame), and we always have a lot to take with us. On my way to the car hire offices (with two heavy bags on my shoulders) I found myself drifting back to May 14 when that taxi driver skipped a red robot and damaged my car. I found myself with a lot of could haves, should haves, might haves as well as ifs and hows! Although, at the end of it all, I was sure about one thing - I was grateful for the chance to even think back to that date, I was grateful for another chance in life!

Not mobile, 4 months later

Today the bank tells me that I have to settle the balance owing on my first car before they can give me finance for the new one.... There goes my hopes of being mobile again - I was so excited when I got the approval and according to the dealership, I was a done deal. I there I was shopping around for insurance and in the end I got the best one, only to be told that I will no longer be getting the car. I wish the ombudsman can speed up this process - am so tired of being at their mercy........
